Soul Queen Art Co. began as an online venture during the pandemic, born out of my need to reconnect with my creative side. After 2 years of selling online and at markets, I stumbled upon a commercial space in Boronia. After a lot of hard work – and cheerful encouragement from everyone walking past – I opened Soul Queen Art Co.
Collective creativity
I’ve always been a creative person myself, and it just made sense to support other Melbourne makers. I wanted to give emerging creators an affordable way to showcase their work. I was overwhelmed by the response from makers who want to be involved.
What started as a personal creative outlet has blossomed into a vibrant mini collective.
Local handmade treasures
Soul Queen is a bright and colourful space where everything is handmade and local. The store is filled with unique pieces, from original art prints, stickers, ceramics to baby clothing, all made by Melbourne artisans. From $2 trinkets to $150 statement pieces, there's something for everyone.
A colourful oasis
The store has become more than just a retail space – it's a celebration of creativity and connection. People say the shop makes them feel happy when they walk in. The journey has been challenging, but seeing people love the store makes all the hard work worth it.
