Saffron on Kelletts – Rowville

 

Saffron on Kelletts has been providing locals with a freshness and flavour since April 2014 with Authentic North Indian cuisine.  Each dish is cooked à la carte utilising only the highest quality of raw ingredients available. Dietary requirements are catered to whereby possible, making them an excellent choice for those practising a vegan diet or that have celiac disorders.  


From humble beginnings 

The story began in 1996 with Nikky and her daughter Shabana, who opened a delightful little Indian restaurant, Miraaj, in Boronia. In 2001, Miraaj relocated to Tecoma and became Saffron Cottage, quickly becoming an institution in the Dandenong's and enthralling all who visited with the beautiful atmosphere and delectable food. However, due to a lease expiry at the original site, Saffron Cottage was obligated to move to its current location. In March 2021, after twenty years of service to the Hills community, Nikky and Shabana made the decision to farewell the Hills and focus on Rowville. 


Introducing Saffron on Kelletts 

In April 2014, recognising the need for authentic Indian cuisine in Rowville, Saffron on Kelletts opened its doors to this spirited community. It has now become one of the best Indian eateries in the South-East of Melbourne, known for its energetic atmosphere and superior service. 


Commitment to quality and freshness 

Saffron on Kelletts continues to enjoy providing sustenance to hungry patrons, priding itself on serving quality foods and specialising in North Indian cuisine. Using only fresh vegetables and greens, top-grade lean meats, and a blend of local and imported spices, the restaurant caters to people with specific dietary requirements. 


Championing women in business 

With a strong diverse team behind Saffron on Kellets, Nikky and Shabana are proud to employ members that live locally, and empowering women in the workforce. 

Donut cart, a nostalgic treat (hot jam donuts only offered in Winter) 

The Ice Cream cart is run in conjunction with the donut cart, offering locals fresh hot jam donuts fried to order. These good old fashioned, market style donuts are a delight, bringing back memories of wandering around the market on a cold day with sugary lips and sticky fingers.
