Studio8dance – Boronia

Opening its doors on 2 February, Studio8dance is a brand-new dance studio bringing energy, creativity, and heart to Boronia. Founded by local dancer and teacher Hayley Coleman, the studio is the realisation of a lifelong dream, creating a space where dancers of all ages can grow, learn, and fall in love with dance.
Located on Boronia Road, Studio8dance is set to become a welcoming hub for the local dance community.
From childhood dream to dance studio
Hayley has been dancing since she was just two years old, and from an early age, she knew she wanted to one day own her own dance studio. Dance has always been more than a hobby; it’s a passion and a calling.
Her dance journey includes exams, competitions, concerts, and countless performance opportunities. Hayley completed her secondary education at Rowville Institute of the Arts, graduating in 2020, and was accepted into full-time dance programs at both Kelly Aker’s Full Time Dance and Spectrum Full Time Dance.
With over five years of teaching experience, much of it at a dance school in Blind Bight, Hayley brings both technical expertise and genuine care for her students. She is also currently completing her Pilates instructor certification, with plans to integrate this knowledge into dancer training to further support strength, conditioning, and injury prevention.
A supportive space to grow
At its core, Studio8dance is about creating a supportive and nurturing environment where dancers feel encouraged to try, learn, and grow.
The studio offers classes for dancers aged two years through to adults, with a wide range of styles including Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Pom, Tap, Voice, Musical Theatre, and Tiny Tots. Studio8dance also offers private lessons in Tap, Voice, and Musical Theatre with Hannah Underwood, a Knox local and active performer in the Australian musical theatre industry.
The studio is guided by three core values: kindness, respect, and hard work, values that shape both the learning environment and the culture of the studio.
Families and dancers can expect an experience filled with learning, laughter, and encouragement. Hayley believes dance is both a sport and an art form, and that the lessons learned in the studio extend far beyond technique.
Through dance, students build confidence, discipline, professionalism, and social skills, tools that stay with them long after class ends. Studio8dance aims to nurture not just strong dancers, but well-rounded, resilient young people.

Proud to be part of Boronia
Boronia’s central location and strong community make it the perfect home for Studio8dance. With schools, shops, and sporting clubs nearby, the studio is well placed to grow alongside the local community and connect with families across Knox.
Hayley values being part of a suburb that offers opportunity, accessibility, and a supportive environment for young people to thrive.
Looking to the future
Hayley’s vision for Studio8dance is simple and heartfelt, to create a place dancers are excited to come to, where friendships are formed, new skills are learned, and dance is genuinely enjoyed, even if it’s just for half an hour a week.
To help families find the right fit, new students are invited to trial as many styles as they like in their age group during their first week, completely free, before enrolling.
Studio8dance is ready to welcome the next generation of dancers, and share the joy of movement, creativity, and confidence with the Boronia community.
