From advocacy to a mission to building bridal dreams

Julie is the proud owner of Miss Bella Bridal, a boutique dedicated to helping women feel confident, beautiful, and celebrated on one of the most important days of their lives. Since taking over the business in 2019, she has poured her passion into creating a warm, supportive environment where every bride feels seen and empowered.

Her journey into bridal retail was shaped by decades of advocacy and compassion. With a background in the disability sector, Julie spent years supporting families and later co-founded a charity in response to personal experiences with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). Over 20 years, she led national campaigns that resulted in three high-cost treatments being listed on the PBS, the rollout of newborn screening, and Medicare-funded carrier testing for SMA, cystic fibrosis, and Fragile X.

In recognition of her extraordinary contributions, Julie was awarded an Order of Australia Medal in 2023. Today, she brings that same strength and unwavering commitment to Miss Bella Bridal, ensuring every bride’s journey is not just about finding the perfect gown, but about feeling truly celebrated.

Award-winning style for every bride

Miss Bella Bridal has earned a reputation for providing an exceptional experience for every customer. The store offers a wide range of wedding and debutante dresses suitable for all budgets, including exclusive gowns from New York designer Justin Alexander at accessible prices. Julie and her team provide private appointments tailored to each bride’s preferences, and their in-house alterations team, with over 100 years of combined experience, ensures that every gown fits perfectly. At Miss Bella Bridal, inclusivity, honesty, and integrity are central to the business, ensuring that every woman, regardless of shape or size, feels supported in finding her dream dress.

In 2025, Miss Bella Bridal was proudly recognised at the 4th Annual Wedding Industry Awards Australia Yarra Valley & Dandenong Ranges, winning in three categories:

  • Bridal Gown Alteration

  • Bridal Gown Boutique

  • Bridesmaids & Formalwear

These awards reflect the boutique’s commitment to excellence, craftsmanship, and customer care.
