Behind this beloved local gem are owners Chris and Marina, a passionate hospitality duo who have been serving smiles and scoops to the community for nearly four years.
A dream built on a love for sweets
For Chris and Marina, gelato isn't just dessert, it’s a calling. “We have always loved sweets. Gelato especially is Chris’s favourite,” Marina shares.
The pair met while studying hospitality over 12 years ago and have worked in the industry ever since. Chris grew up around great food in his family's catering business and even won a gold medal for his service skills. Marina is an award-winning pastry chef and cake decorator, passionate about crafting treats that are as beautiful as they are delicious.
Their dream? To bring authentic, house-made gelato to the community, and put smiles on faces one scoop at a time.

What truly sets JALB apart is their commitment to making everything themselves, the gelato, the sauces, even the panini fillings. They use the best fresh local produce, milk, cream, fruit and nuts, and you can taste the difference in every spoonful. With new flavours constantly appearing in their display window, there’s always something exciting to try.
“Because we make everything from scratch, we aren’t limited in what we can create.” This dedication to quality extends beyond flavour, hospitality is at the heart of everything they do.
