Stamford Park – Rowville

Stamford Park is a stunning blend of history, nature, and community, offering one of Knox’s most picturesque and engaging destinations. Located in Rowville, this 38-hectare parkland has undergone a $13.5 million transformation, turning it into a vibrant public space that celebrates both its natural environment and rich heritage.
At the heart of the park lies the beautifully restored Stamford Park Homestead, built in 1882 by the Row family. This Victorian-era residence, with its Gothic gables and intricate wrought iron detailing, now serves as a café, restaurant, and event space, inviting visitors to experience the charm of 19th-century architecture in a modern setting.
Surrounding the homestead, the park features:
Wetlands and a platypus habitat supporting local biodiversity
3.5 km of walking and cycling paths weaving through native landscapes
Boardwalks, viewing decks, and a lookout tower offering scenic vistas
A nature-inspired playground and village green perfect for families and community events
Public art installations and a yarning circle that reflect cultural storytelling and connection
Whether you're enjoying a quiet walk, attending a community celebration, or dining at the homestead, Stamford Park is a place to relax, explore, and reconnect, with nature, history, and each other.
